Iet London: Savoy Place Opened Its Doors To External Events

IET London Savoy Place now offers external events after their two year development which lasted 2 years and costed around £30m. The Savoy Place now offers two lecture theatres holding around 600 delegates. The fantastic layout of the room makes it even better with a futuristic digital chandelier in the foyer. There are also video walls located on the second floor, this can be connected to live feeds or may be personalised to event requirements.

They have also added the new Johnson Roof Terrace, which can hold 200 guests and would be perfect for drinks receptions with the stunning views over London.

Design Hotel Adds New Restaurant

The Aviator Hotel, a modern purpose-built design hotel at Farnborough Airport, has recently expanded its F&B offerings, by expanding to include the neighbouring pub, the Swan. The traditional British pub has been refurbished, and is now offering a gastropub experience to the hotel, to complement the hotel’s existing brasserie and American Diner. The hotel also offers five dedicated meeting rooms, as well as function spaces, along with a cocktail bar and boutique bedrooms. The Swan can be used exclusively for events for up to 100 delegates, alternatively private spaces are available for 10 delegates or more.

Hilton Garden Inn Debuts In Ireland

Hilton Worldwide has opened its first Hilton Garden Inn in Ireland on the banks of Dublin’s River Liffey. The Hilton Garden Inn Dublin Custom House will be located in the heart of the Irish Financial Services Centre, next to Dublin’s Silicon Docklands. The hotel will have four meetings and events spaces that can hold up to 80 delegates as well as a 24 hour business centre and free WiFi throughout the property. The hotel will have 239 bedrooms as well as a fully equipped fitness centre, a casual bistro and restaurant which is open 24 hours and sells a range of food and drink.

New Gin Hotel Opening In London

Portobello Road Gin is opening a new distillery in London’s trendy Notting Hill. Due to open in November 2015, the multi-million pound distillery will also include a restaurant and bar. Guests will also be able to take part in creating their own unique gin recipe to take away whilst learning about the history of gin in the on-site museum.

The top floor of the hotel will feature private dining space and the distillery will be the first of its kind to have accommodation on-site as well.

Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre

Plans for the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre have been released and is set to open in 2018. The venue will include 12,500 sqm of exhibition space plus 14 multi-purpose meeting rooms to fit up to 2,500 delegates. The style and design of the building will incorporate Farnborough’s connection with and aviation and have a modern feel to it.

Vienna Hotel Shortlisted For Design Award

The Hilton Vienna Plaza, which originally opened in 1988, but has recently undergone a total refurbishment, has been shortlisted for the EHDA 2016 (European Hotel Design Awards). The hotel was opened as one of Vienna’s first design-led hotels, and was re-launched after its €20 million in September 2014. Robert Angell Design International, the prestigious London-based design studio, has overseen the new interior design of the hotel, which is characterized by stylized geometrical patterns. Winners from 2015 include the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum, Les Bains Paris, and the Rosewood London.

Robert De Niro To Open Luxury London Hotel

American actor Robert De Niro has announced plans to open a new luxury hotel in London’s Covent Garden. Plans have been submitted to Westminster City Council for the development of an 83 bedroom hotel, which will feature a spa, two restaurants, a deli and a members club. The hotel will be constructed on the site of six historic buildings near the Royal Opera House and will be built around a central courtyard. The hotel will be a sister venture to Robert De Niro’s Greenwich hotel in New York and will be created with partners BD hotel and Capco with work due to begin in 2017, and the hotel due to open in 2019.
