The Arcotel Donauzentrum has recently opened in Vienna, located directly in the Donau Zentrum shopping centre. The third Vienna Arcotel has a different concept: the focus is on digital services, a cool lounge and an innovative grab & go breakfast. Besides 158 guest rooms the hotel also offers five seminar rooms above the rooftops of Vienna’s 22nd district. With high ceilings and large windows, all five seminar rooms on the 4th floor facing Wagramer Straße are flooded with natural daylight. The rooms are sized up to 132 m², offering enough space for up to 99 people.

The Chester Grosvenor has announced a £350,000 restaurant refurbishment, which is set to include the city centre’s only Champagne bar. 


The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant La Brasserie will be closed for four weeks, while work is carried out, plans are set to be unveiled in early February, include art-deco inspired interiors and a brass and quartz Champagne bar.


Michelin-starred chef Simon Radley is also developing a revived menu for La Brasserie, which is due to reopen on 1 February.

In April the four-star AC Hotel Belfast will be the first Marriott in Northern Ireland, the first AC Hotel by Marriott on the island of Ireland, and the first purpose-built AC Hotel in the UK.


The hotel will consist of 188 guestrooms, gym, library, meeting facilities and AC Lounge. Jean-Christophe Novelli will open a brasserie in the hotel, the first restaurant the award-winning chef will open in Ireland.

The Hoxton is set to continue its overseas expansion with the opening of three hotels in the United States in 2018. 


The three hotels are:


• The Hoxton, Williamsburg – located Brooklyn, New York, on the former site of a water tower factory, the 175-bedroom hotel will be the Hoxton’s first property to open in the US. It is set to launch in summer 2018.


• The Hoxton, Portland – also due to open next summer, thhe hotel will have 113 bedrooms and will be located in a property which was built as a hotel in 1906, but which has stood empty since 2007.


• The Hoxton, Donwtown LA – set in the former headquarters of the Los Angeles Railway Authority which dates back to 1920, the 174-bedroom hotel will feature the brand’s first rooftop pool and is due to open in late 2018.

Melia Hotels International have announced the latest addition to its UK portfolio, the Innside Liverpool. The hotel is due to open in 2019 and will form part of a new development close to the River Mersey and a short walk from the  city centre.The property will feature 200 bedrooms, fitness facilities, meeting spaces and a rooftop restaurant.


The Innside Liverpool will join a sister property in Manchester, which opened in 2015. A further three Innside hotels are in the pipeline for Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.
