
Melia International will open its first property in the UAE this month. The 5* Melia Dubai, opposite Port Rashid, has 167 rooms, 300m2 of event space, five restaurants, a Spa and rooftop pool.

Hotel La Tour is a new hotel in the city Centre of Birmingham which is due to open at the end of February 2012. The hotel will be to 4* standard and will have 174 bedrooms, dedicated Conference space to fit a maximum of 120 delegates, a destination restaurant and a vibrant street café. The hotel is being built to a very high standard with lots of high tech features both in the meeting rooms and bedrooms. There will be complimentary wi-fi throughout and built in projectors & screens in the meeting rooms. The Birmingham hotel is going to be the first Hotel in the Group, and a site in Manchester has also been secured. The plan is to have 5 hotels over the next 5 years building up to around 12 hotels in total. Other locations could be Bristol, York, Maidenhead, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Bristol’s Engineers House is due to re-vamp all lounges, dining rooms, coffee stations and breakout areas as well as having a complete makeover of the Blue Room lounge and restaurant. The venue feels the improvements will take this elegant 19th century to a new level of excellence and comfort.







Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide is to run and manage the new hotel being built at London Excel under its new brand Aloft Hotels. The 252 room hotel is scheduled to open at the end of 2011 and will mark the brand’s UK debut.
