Dublin Hotel Announces 2018 Opening

Ireland’s first Aloft Hotel is due to open in 2018, Marriott have recently announced. The Aloft Dublin City is part of the new brand in the Marriott portfolio, and join the six current Aloft properties in Europe, with one in Belgium, one in Turkey, and two apiece in Germany and the UK. Another five properties are also planned in Europe.

The hotel will have 202 bedrooms over eight storeys, as well as a WYXZ bar, Remix lounge, Recharge fitness centre, and Refuel, a 24-hour deli. The hotel will feature two function spaces.

London Transport Museum Redevelopment

London Transport Museum have recently completed a £22.4m investment and redevelopment project. It now offers a modern and dramatic venue located in the heart of Covent Garden, under the glass roof and iron pillars of the Victorian Flower Market. The Cubic Theatre seats 121 delegates and is a purpose built dedicated meeting venue, offering something completely different due it’s unique setting. The theatre offers state of the art audio visual equipment and has a large foyer area that lends itself perfectly to drinks receptions or registration. Delegates are able to visit the Museum Galleries during the day and after conferencing hours the Cubic Foyer or Museum Galleries can be hired for a dinner or drinks reception.

W Hotels Makes It’S Las Vegas Debut

W Hotels Worldwide are now part of Marriott International, with the W Hotel Las Vegas being the first to make it’s debut. Located at the north end of the Las Vegas strip the W has 289 bedrooms and 3 floors of brand new meeting and events space. W are hoping the hotel will provide guests with a different side of the strip and a twist on the typical Sin City experience.

Two New Hipotels In Playa De Palma, Mallorca

Hipotels Hotels & Resorts is extending its hotel supply in Mallorca with the addition of two new establishments located less than 200 meters from the sea, with all the high quality standards characteristic of the company. Both the Hipotels Gran Playa de Palma (4-star hotel) and the Hipotels Playa de Palma Palace (5-star) will have an outdoor pool with a terrace, Bali beds, free Wi-Fi throughout the entire establishment, a buffet restaurant featuring a variety of regional and international dishes, a poolside snack bar, a lobby bar, a spa with a heated pool, sauna, steam room, massages and treatments, a gym, a car park, daily entertainment, shows and a long list of services designed exclusively to guarantee a perfect stay.

The 600 rooms will offer views of the sea, garden or pool, depending on their location, and the complex will also include a convention centre featuring 4 large convention halls fully equipped with the finest audiovisual material.

Croke Park Voted Best Sporting Stadia

Croke Park in Dublin has been named C&IT’s sporting Stadia of 2016. The 82,300 seat stadium completed a major renovation of its meeting and events space at the end of 2015 and has impressed organisers and delegates with its new look.

The Hogan Suite (their flagship event space) can seat up to 750 guests in a number of layouts and was also voted one of the most flexible event spaces. While the meeting and events space is impressive, one of the venues highlights is its roof’s walkway – spanning the whole of the stadium and offers views of Dublin that are unmatched anywhere else in the city. The venue can offer this roof top tour on top of the day delegate rate for small groups, but would be perfect for CEOs or VIPS of the group.

Four Seasons Announce New European Hotels

Two Four Seasons properties will open in France in late 2017. The Four Seasons Megève will face onto Mont Blanc, and will have 55 bedrooms as the base of the Mont d’Arbois in the French Alps. Nearby, in the medieval village of Mont d’Arbois, a collection of existing chalets will be renovated and turned into the Chalet Du Mont d’Arbois Megève.

Between the two hotels, guests will have access to four dining outlets, and an 18-hole golf course. The project is being executed in partnership with Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, a lifestyle company with family links to the area.

Intercontinental O2 – Good To Know

The InterContinental O2 came in to visit us recently and here are a few useful facts, to help anyone organising an event:

The hotel has the largest pillar-free ballroom in the UK.
The ballroom has more than 90 rigging points which can hold up to 2 tonnes each
There is a direct, private walkway to the O2 arena
The Penthouse Suite has its own private access to the Sky Bar

Tamburlaine Hotel To Open In Cambridge

Tamburlaine in the new CB1 city quarter development around Cambridge railway station is designed to appeal to locals as well as both leisure and business travellers. Providing 155 rooms, an all-day Brasserie style restaurant, Bar and Garden Room, which will serve Tiffin and afternoon tea, and a standalone Deli, serving locally grown produce and artisan treats, along with a variety of meeting rooms. The Tamburlaine is due to open in March 2017 is part of the O’Callaghan group and has been designed to create a hotel as unique as Cambridge itself. The meeting space will provide a calm. Peaceful , productive atmosphere with a choice of configurations to accommodate smaller away-days, seminars and conferences.

15 Hotels Opening In Hamburg This Year

In addition to the Elbphilharmonie, philharmonic hall opening on 11th January (pictured), 15 hotels are set to launch in Hamburg during 2017 adding a total of over 2,300 rooms to the local market. Ranging from three to five stars they are located all across town. Many of them offer meeting and event spaces and these are some of the new hotspots:

The Fontenay Hamburg

Located on the shores of the Alster lake in the heart of the city this hotel is a member of Leading Hotels of the world. There are 110 bedrooms and four meeting rooms, the largest has capacity for 120 theatre-style

Sir Nikolai Hotel

Sir Nikolai will offer 94 luxury guest rooms, suites and residences and it is a member of Design Hotels. The meeting space is to be confirmed, although there is a Spa, a Creative Space and Asian Kitchen & Bar, a contemporary eating venue serving Asian secrets infused with Peruvian spices.

Holiday Inn Hamburg − City Nord

Due to open in March, this hotel will have 297 bedrooms and 12 meeting rooms.
