The Hotel Baltschug Kempinski in Moscow is aiming to increase its conference space by mid 2012. It will add three meeting rooms to its rooftop floor and renovate its lobby. Another hall will be enlarged to accommodate 300 people.
Westin Chongquig Liberation Square in China is due to open in October 2012. The hotel will have 11 meeting rooms and 2,000m2 of event space and 300 bedrooms.
Fairmont is planning to open the Grand Hotel Kyiv in Ukraine in 2012. There will be 1,210m2 of event space including a 480m2 ballroom and 257 bedrooms.
An executive boardroom at the Arora Hotel Heathrow has opened on a private floor at the top of the hotel and offers an impressive view across the airport. It can accommodate 20 people in boardroom style, 60 theatre and 50 for a seated lunch.
Hotel La Tour Birmingham, a £24m project, is under way in the Midlands. Opening in February 2012, it will have 174 rooms and a dedicated conference floor with seven meeting rooms for up to 120 people.
Lord’s, the ‘Home of Cricket’, has announced a partnership with renowned Indian caterers Tamarind and The Cinnamon Club for 2011 and beyond. Tamarind and The Cinnamon Club’s work with Lord’s hospitality and catering team reflects the international matches played over summer 2011.
