New Hotel Openings From Melia Hotels International

Here’s a roundup of the hotels which the Melia group opened in 2016 and hotels which are scheduled to open in 2017. The group has new 50 properties which will open across the world between 2017 and 2020, so there are lots to look out for in the future.

W Hotel Las Vegas Now Open

The W brand, now part of Marriott International, has opened a new hotel in Las Vegas. Located on the North side of Las Vegas Boulevard the W hotel is part of the SLS resort and has 289 bedrooms and suites. For meeting and event space the hotel has 7 available venues including indoor and outdoor locations and their largest room being the Amplify Suite which can fit up to nearly 550 theatre.

The hotel has 7 restaurants and also a private roof top pool.

Coming New To Dubai

Two more St Regis hotels are also coming on stream: scheduled for next year is the 136-room St Regis Dubai Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, which will feature a state-of-the-art polo academy with four polo fields, show jumping and dressage arenas, while the following year St Regis Dubai – The Palm (picture featured) will boast the world’s highest infinity pool located on the 50th floor.
Madinat Jumeirah: a new hotel, the Jumeirah al Nasim, the sea breeze, is opening at the end of this year with 430 rooms.
Al Habtoor City is Dubai’s first integrated resort. Situated on the new Dubai Water Canal, it will offer three new hotels, a shopping boulevard and a spectacular water-themed show by Dragone, the first permanent water-based production set in a purpose-built theatre. The St Regis Dubai offers bespoke luxery across 234 rooms while the W Dubai has 356 rooms.
The Langham, Palm Jumeirah, will open at the end of this year, the group’s first Middle Eastern Resort.
Set on the Pearl Jumeirah waterfront, the Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai opens this year offering 117 rooms and suites as well as 15 ultra-deluxe villas.
Dukes is opening its first property outside the UK with 273-room Dukes Oceana Dubai, set on the trunk of The Palm Jumeirah.

The Hoxton Paris

The Hoxton Paris is due to open in Spring 2017, it will be Hoxton Hotels second property outside London. The boutique hotel will have 172 bedrooms and will be located in a 16th century building in the city’s 2nd arrondissement.

Astor Hotel Paris, Curio – A Collection By Hilton

In 2017 Curio – A Collection by Hilton will take over the famous Astor Hotel Saint-Honoré after a substantial refurbishment. The venue will have 128 rooms and suites over six storeys.

Marriott Hotels, Autograph Collection

The first Autograph Collection hotel by Marriott in Paris is set to be unveiled in 2018 in the former Pentemont Abbey. The five star property will bring 50 rooms to the area as well as conference facilities.

Visit To Chateau Du Lac, Brussels

We recently had a meeting Château du Lac which is part of the Belgian hotel group, Martins. It’s a 5-star luxury hotel, by a lake and with lovely grounds about 40 minutes from Brussels airport and 25 minutes from the city centre. It is a lovely, relaxing location and the food and service were excellent, throughout our visit.

The hotel has plenty of meeting space with 21 rooms in the hotel, the largest for 850 people in theatre style. There are 123 bedrooms which are currently being refurbished.

In addition there is a manor house in the grounds which has 5 additional meeting rooms and 12 meeting rooms. This would be great for a really private meeting and it is serviced by the hotel.

Team building activities are available and the hotel has a spa, gym, swimming pool.

We really enjoyed our stay here and had a very productive meeting, it would have been lovely to stay longer!

Nh Collection Madrid Suecia

In Madrid the historic Hotel Suecia has been renovated and re-branded as a five star NH Collection hotel. With 123 spacious rooms across 10 floors, the building uses Scandinavian inspired décor. The outdoor terrace has 150sqm of floor space and an elevated private area of 40 metres.

The building is located close to numerous tourist attractions including the “Art Walk”, containing more than a dozen world-class museums and art galleries, including the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum of Contemporary Art.

The in-house restaurant Casa Suecia will serve traditional Mediterranean dishes with an international nod alongside signature cocktails and 3 multi-functional spaces suitable for any type of event of up to 148 people.

Shanghai Hotel Opens

The Hyatt Regency Shanghai, Wujiaochang has just opened in Wujiaochang, (meaning “hub of five avenues,”) is a thriving business, innovation and university district in Shanghai, East China. Hyatt Regency Shanghai, Wujiaochang is located in the Hopson International Plaza, a new tower comprised of Class A-grade offices, a luxury shopping mall and dining and entertainment venues. The hotel is conveniently situated beside Wujiaochang Station on Metro Line 10, providing guests with easy access to and from central Shanghai. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is a 50-minute drive, and Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is less than 15 miles (24 kilometers) by car. The 306-room Hyatt Regency hotel offers 17 spacious suites, a showpiece restaurant with the Market Café, and 2,858 sq m (30,763 sq ft) of meeting and conference space including the expansive, naturally-lit Regency Ballroom, seven multi-function rooms.

The newly built Aloft Miami Airport is due to open in December 2016, and is just a few miles from the airport. Designed for global travellers, Aloft Hotels offers comfortable loft-inspired rooms and a vibrant social scene, all in a modern tech-savvy environment. The hotel can offer 125 bright and breezy guestrooms, all of which feature loft-inspired modern design, with nine-foot ceilings and extra-large windows that create a free-flowing energy. The hotel also offers 1,000 square feet of meeting space in the Tactic function room.
