The Magdas Hotel in Vienna offers jobs and training to multilingual former asylum seekers – while making a political statement about the plight of refugees in Europe
Magdas Hotel is a social enterprise set up by the Catholic charity Caritas to give refugees a chance to learn the hotel trade while on the job. Asylum seekers in Austria are rarely allowed to work while their applications are being processed, and can struggle to find employment once they are accepted.
The Santiago de Alfama is a new 5* boutique hotel in a renovated 15th century palace. The hotel has 19 bedrooms in total, made up of six suites and 13 bedrooms. One of the suites on the first floor can be used as a meeting room and has capacity for 40 in theatre style, 30 in cabaret or 25 in boardroom style. It can also be used for private dining and holds 35 people.
The hotel is located right in the centre of Lisbon in one of the oldest areas, Alfama and there is lots going on in the area. The transfer from the airport is around 30 minutes.

The 5* InterContinental Estoril has opened recently and is located on the seafront between Estoril and Cascais.
The hotel has one meeting room, located on the 2nd floor, with natural daylight and capacity for meetings of up up to 60 delegates. There are 59 bedrooms and one restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining space, a fitness centre, indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
This is InterContinental’s second hotel in the Lisbon area, following the re-branding of the Tiara Park Atlantic in the centre of Lisbon as an InterContinental hotel recently.

DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Reserva del Higueron is located near the vibrant city of Malaga, and is overlooking the bay of Fuengirola. The new resort includes 177 guest rooms and suites and spa offering a luxury hydro circuit, a wellness centre, two outdoor pools, a sand sports centre, two tennis courts, and 11 padel courts. There is also a complimentary shuttle to the beach and train station. The design is contemporary and there are panoramic views from the rooftop bar

Hainan Airlines announced a regular flight between Prague and Beijing starting on 23 September 2015. There will be three flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and passengers arriving from Beijing will also be able to transfer in Prague to flights connecting with other European destinations. These hotels are not focussed on the meetings and conference market, but are an interesting option for accommodation.
