The five-star Mayfair hotel, part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection, has had a full refurbishment of all guest bedrooms, corridors, lift lobbies, and has increased its number of suites. 44 new suites have been added to the hotel, including the Berkeley and Hanover Terrace suites, which offer large outdoor terraces with 80sqm of inside space. The hotel’s Presidential suite has also been refreshed.
An Update On Hatfield House
The Riding School has recently undergone a refurbishment giving a modern and light and airy feel to the venue. The room has a glass roof to flood the space with natural daylight as well as built in AV-equipment.
In the New Year, the venue will also be opening their Lawn House, a 15 bedroomed house set within its own garden with views over Hatfield Park. The House will consist of 1 kings size bedroom, 11 double bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms and a single bedroom. Guests will have the option of booking the House exclusively or individual bedroom bookings.
Melia Hotels International Set To Open Innside By Melia In Newcastle
Hotel group Melia Hotels International has revealed it is to enter Newcastle with a second property in the UK under its contemporary city centre Innside by Melia brand. The property is due to open in 2019
The hotel will have 160 bedrooms and suites and will be developed in a vacant office building on the banks of the River Tyne.
Principal London To Open In Early 2018
The 334-room Principal London will transform the former Hotel Russell: a Grade II listed building which is located in Russell Square in Bloomsbury. The hotel is steeped in history and will offer a variety of spaces for drinking, dining and partying that will be distinct from each other and unique in their offering.
At the very heart of the hotel will be the magnificently restored Palm Court; which will sit alongside the Principal London’s grand, listed ballroom.
The Principal London is the latest opening from the hotel group, Principal, with recent openings in Edinburgh, Manchester and York following the sensitive restoration of historic hotels.
New Event Space In Knightsbridge Store
Blank Canvas has revealed its latest event space in London, the new space, Canvas Knightsbridge is a partnership with British retailer Harvey Nichols – and is located on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols flagship store.
The white, open ‘blank canvas’ space with floor-to-ceiling windows has capacity for 200 people with lots of natural light and polished wooden floors.
Work Commences On New Peninsula Hotel In London
Work is underway on a new Peninsula hotel in London’s Belgravia district, the property’s owner, Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd. (HSH), announced last week. Scheduled to open in 2021, The Peninsula London will have 190 guest rooms overlooking Hyde Park Corner and the Wellington Arch, as well 24 to 28 residential apartments. Plans also call for a spa, shops, bars, restaurants, and a ballroom, the size of which has not yet been announced.
Dixon Hotel Opening In 2018
Further details have been revealed about the Dixon hotel duet to open in autumn 2018 under Marriott’s independent Autograph Collection.
The 193-bedroom boutique hotel at London’s Tower Bridge was originally designed as a Magistrates’ Court and police station in 1905 and will undergo an extensive restoration to regenerate its original features, including its courthouse. The hotel will support also local art with a cultural programme selected by the hotel’s cultural committee, and guests will have special access to local theatres and studios.
Luxury Boutique Hotel Opening In Iver, Buckinghamshire
The Langley hotel is due to open in June 2018 and is located on the Duke of Marlborough’s former Buckinghamshire estate. It will be run by the same owners as the Wellesley Knightsbridge as a member of Marriott’s Luxury Collection brand.
The Langley is on the Langley Park estate and the buildings date from 1756. It will be converted from two a Grade II listed buildings. One is the former hunting lodge of the Duke of Marlborough and the other was the stables and a brew house.
The hotel will have 41 bedrooms and one meeting room. It is surrounded by grounds originally landscaped by Capability Brown and there will be a spa with eight treatment rooms, a fitness centre, restaurant and bar.
The Langley will become the Luxury Collection’s fifth hotel in the UK as well as the Wellesley Knightsbridge, Westbury and Park Tower hotels in London, and Trump Turnberry in Ayrshire.

The 96-room Admiralty Arch Waldorf Astoria London – the British capital’s first hotel under the Hilton luxury brand – will be built in the iconic Admiralty Arch building, which once housed the offices of James Bond creator Ian Fleming. The hotel, scheduled to open in 2022, will have three restaurants, a spa and a rooftop bar offering sweeping views across London’s skyline. The meeting space has yet to be defined. The historic building – which opened in 1912 and served as admiralty offices, residences of senior naval officers and Ian Fleming’s offices – was designed by Aston Webb, who also designed Buckingham Palace’s facade.
