A state-of-the-art lounge equipped for the digital age has been opened at the Ricoh Arena for the general public to work and study while on their travels. The Ricoh Business Lounge, situated on the first floor and big enough to host 500 delegates, is a flexible working space with interactive whiteboards and high-speed Wi-Fi. 

Tailored to different ways of working, including private pods and hot desks to think and concentrate, the Lounge also has a designated suite for private meetings. The Lounge is open Monday to Friday for visitors to use for free, subject to availability, and the space can also be pre-booked exclusively for events.

Solent Conference Centre in Southampton is located with the university’s new building, The Spark. They have installed a meeting facility called The Pod which has a fully functional lecture theater inside and seating area on top. The Pod is located in the Centre of the Atrium and gives the Conference Centre a futuristic feel. 

Apex Bath is almost ready to open and within the next couple of months will be opening its doors for business. With conference facilities for 400 delegates it will be one of the largest conference facilities in the centre of Bath. The modern hotel will host 177 bedrooms, and if booked in advanced can be hired exclusively for larger conferences.

Apex will be keeping their high standards that are offered in their smaller properties in Edinburgh and London but now on a much larger scale. The hotel are happy to offer out their restaurant exclusively for conferences during lunch, but also can double up as a relaxed breakout space offering more flexibility. The hotel is now taking on bookings for accommodation and conferences from September 2017, but beware they are booking up quickly!

Park Plaza Waterloo has opened its doors! The hotel is ideally located in Central London within walking distance of some of London’s most-visited attractions, including the London Eye and the Imperial War Museum. The four-star venue has 494 bedrooms, which include superior rooms, studio rooms and one bedroom suites, six meeting rooms, Florentine Bar and Restaurant, exclusive executive lounge and Mandra Spa complete with gym and swimming pool.

Last week the ground-breaking ceremony for the International Convention Centre Wales took place at the Celtic Manor Resort. A number of names in the corporate industry were onsite for the event, as well as our MD, Jacqui Kavanagh. 

The convention centre is due to be open in 2019 and will host over 26,000 sqm of flexible event space. With an auditorium that can accommodate 1,500 delegates, pillar free ballroom of over 4,000 sqm and facilities to take on over 5,000 delegates. This is a joint investment from the Welsh Government and the Celtic Manor of over £83 million. The investment will hopefully put Wales on the map for congresses and larger events that they previously wouldn’t be able to have accommodated.

A second AC Hotel by Marriott will open in Manchester and is expected to launch in 2019. AC Hotels by Marriott International was introduced to the UK last year with property openings in Birmingham and Salford Quays. The hotel will have 172 bedrooms across nine storeys and feature a gym, cafe restaurant, bar and meeting facilities.
