Five hotels added to DoubleTree by Hilton UK portfolio
DoubleTree by Hilton is set to add five new hotels to its UK portfolio, following a franchise agreement between real estate investment company Aprirose and Hilton. The hotels will be managed by RBH – formerly Redefine BDL Hotels.
These will be the DoubleTree by Hilton Stratford-upon-Avon, situated in the heart of the town with 102 bedrooms, DoubleTree bu Hilton Oxford Belfry located in 17 acres of land with 154 bedrooms, DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort complete with meeting space for up to 400 ans 148 bedrooms. DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge Belfry is located in Cambourne on the outskirts of the famous university city and has 120 bedrooms and finally, DoubleTree by Hilton Forest Pines Hotel & Golf Resort, found in 190 acres of Yorkshire woodland and features 188 bedrooms.
Jumeirah Group are due to launch its first Zabeel House hotel in the UK in London’s Shoreditch next year.
The Dubai-based luxury hotel firm will also open another new property in London next year and that it has redevelopment plans for the 216-bedroom Jumeirah Carlton Tower in Knightsbridge.
Zabeel House in London is expected to open in the first quarter of 2019 on Great Eastern Street with approximately 200 bedrooms. Jumeirah launched the Zabeel House brand in January and opened the first property in Dubai in March.
Delta Hotels, part of Marriott International, has launched Delta Hotels by Marriott Frankfurt Offenbach, this marks the European debut of the hotel brand. The opening is a significant landmark in the global rollout of the highly regarded Delta Hotels portfolio – one of the company’s fastest growing brands.
Located on the left bank of the Main River between Frankfurt city centre and Offenbach, the hotel is within easy reach of the city’s historic and cultural attractions. The property has 223 spacious guestrooms and suites which are modern and elegantly decorated and features 590 square metres of ultra-modern event space, including nine multi-function rooms, along with a 24-hour business centre and on-site parking facilities.
Delta Hotels’ portfolio now encompasses more than 50 properties and in addition to Frankfurt, the company recently added its first Chinese property in Shanghai and also plans to debut in Turkey this year.

The final touches are being added to the new Hampton by Hilton Blackpool hotel which will open for business at the end of May following a £12m investment.
The hotel, will be on New South Promenade and is a redevelopment of the once derelict Palm Beach and Bourne Hotel site. The property will have 130 rooms along with a fitness centre and work-zone complete with views of the characterful Blackpool seafront.
Unique interiors will run throughout the hotel which will celebrate the culture of Blackpool using feature walls and historic pictures.
The National Theatre set to open a new roof top event space.
The National Theatre is set to open a new roof top venue by summer 2018. Previously known as The Deck the roof top will see a complete re-build.
The new space will have sliding glass screens that open to the terrace. With panoramic London skyline views, it will bring the outside in and vice versa. A fabulous central London location minutes from Covent Garden, Waterloo and the West End. This space will be perfect for evening drinks receptions, corporate BBQ’s and summer outdoor meetings. Suitable for various corporate events for up to 150 delegates.
The replacement of The Deck which was a temporary structure built in 2007 will be designed by RIBA award winning architects Haworth Tompkins
One of the most eagerly awaited hotel openings in the UK will take place in September, when Heckfield Place in Hampshire welcomes its first guests, the property was originally scheduled to open in 2012, but has been beset by delays.
The Georgian main house, the gardens, and Home Farm form part of a 400-acre estate. When it opens in September, the 46-room hotel will also feature a 67-seat private cinema with bar, a wine cellar, spa and personal training facilities, and two cottages in the grounds.
The two restaurants, Marle and Hearth, will be supplied by the estate’s biodynamic kitchen garden, orchards and farm.
The Cairn Group, which operates 33 UK hotels, is set to reopen the Majestic Hotel Harrogate as the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate after a £15m refurbishment.
Due for completion at the end of 2019, the hotel will feature 170 bedrooms, a spa and conference and events space for up to 500 delegates. There will be six state-of-the-art boardrooms and nine conference and events suites. The hotel will also receive a boost to its restaurant offerings, which will include a champagne bar and restaurant, lounge bar, terrace and private dining room.
It follows the conversion of two other Cairn Group hotels, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newcastle International Airport, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh – Queensferry Crossing.
Hotel set to feature in world class facility for women's football
A 150-bedroom luxury hotel is set to feature within a £70m world-class facility for women’s football, on a 60-acre site in Northwich, Cheshire, Cheshire County FA have announced. The site will become a leading centre for the provision of women and girls football with a WSL 1 club in talks to become a partner on what will become a “best in class” football environment.
The centre will include two FIFA-quality pitches, one with a 1000-seat stadium and the second to be used for training by visiting national and international teams. There will also be an additional eight pitches.
The proposed hotel will incorporate a spa with swimming pool and gym, fine-dining restaurant, bar, lounge, banqueting facilities for up to 400 covers and meeting rooms. Planning permission is yet to be sought for the project, which is expected to take 18 months to build.
