With seven hotels currently in operation and eight further properties opening this year and next, Nobu Hospitality is set to have 20 Nobu Hotels globally by 2020.


Nobu Hotels was founded in 2009 after extending the Nobu Restaurant brand into a global lifestyle hospitality brand. Nobu Hotels was founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper who are currently celebrating 25 years in the hospitality industry after the opening of the first Nobu restaurant in 1994.


Joining the portfolio in 2018 will be Nobu Hotel Palo Alto, Nobu Hotel Marbella, Nobu Hotel Riyadh, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, Nobu Hotel Chicago and Nobu Hotel Barcelona. The two years following will see Nobu Hotel openings in Toronto, São Paulo and Atlanta. Further in the future, Nobu Hotels will also introduce Nobu Residences in Toronto, São Paulo and Los Cabos.

Following a record-breaking 2017, Best Western Great Britain has added three new hotels to its collection of over 250 independently owned properties. This year has seen additions and interest particularly in its new soft brands, Sure Hotel Collection which sits in upper economy and BW Signature Collection which sits in upper midscale.


Joining the Sure Hotel Collection are Risley Hall Hotel in Derbyshire and Hotel Collingwood in the seaside town of Bournemouth, while the Cheltenham Regency Hotel joins the hard-branded Best Western Plus collection of properties.


Risley Hall Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western, is a Grade Two listed building, which sits among acres of its own gardens and has a unique heritage as a Saxon Manor, with a history of hospitality dating back to the 11th Century. The hotel has 35 bedrooms and a conference capacity of 110 in a 16th-Century Baronial Hall.

Hotel Collingwood, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western, is a modern building located a stone’s throw away from the famous Bournemouth beach. The family run establishment has 53 individually-styled en-suite bedrooms and leisure facilities, including a whirlpool spa and heated indoor pool.

Best Western Plus Cheltenham Regency Hotel, situated close to the centre of Cheltenham and on the doorstep of the Cotswolds. The hotel provides 47 bedrooms, as well as a conference suite with capacity for 40 people.

Due to open later this year, The Fife Arms in Braemar is being restored and returned to its former glory as a first-class hotel.  It is located in the centre of the Cairngorms National Park and is a one and a half hour drive from Aberdeen airport.


The Fife Arms was once a 19th-century hunting lodge for the Duke of Fife.  The hotel will have 46 bedrooms, a restaurant serving seasonal Scottish produce, a cinema, a cocktail bar and a spa, all set around a pretty courtyard planted with a heather roof.  The renovation is being done by owners of an art gallery and will combine their interest in heritage, tradition, contemporary art and culture.

Luxury lifestyle hotel ME by Meliá is due to open its first property on the Catalan coast, ME Sitges Terramar, in Spring 2018. The property is located just 20 miles along the coast from Barcelona, and follows the success of ME Mallorca and ME Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. 


The new hotel has 213 rooms, nearly all of which feature sea views, as well as a collections of suites such as the Personality Suite with large terraces and breath-taking sea views. There are also 24 Chic Suites, all of which come with spacious terraces. 


ME Sitges Terramar will provide a Mediterranean backdrop for holding meetings, events and private parties as well as offering free, high-speed Wi-Fi.

The new Manchester Double Decker Hotel is due to open on 9th July 2018.  Based just off Oxford Road, guests can choose from two hotels in one building – a Crowne Plaza which is aimed at the business market and Staybridge Suites with extra space for people who want to stay longer.


The Crowne Plaza has conference space on the 2nd floor, with 7 meeting rooms with air conditioning and natural daylight.  The maximum capacity for is 214 in theatre style.


The two hotels are spread over 19 floors, with around 328 bedrooms, 2 restaurants, bar and a gym.  The Staybridge Suites is above the Crowne Plaza and has a terrace on the 18th floor.

The five-AA-star Grand Hotel & Spa in York has doubled in size with the opening of 100 additional bedrooms. The expansion which cost £15m, takes the property’s total bedroom count up to 207.


The bedrooms inspired by the Grande’s Edwardian heritage as the headquarters of the North Eastern Railway, are the latest element of the property’s refurbishment which has included the opening of the Rise restaurant, terrace and bar and the relaunch of Hudsons by Craig Atchinson.


The Grand has also recently opened the White Rose Lounge serving complimentary food and drinks to the hotel’s guests, while work will soon begin on an Arrival Lounge.

Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has signed a new hotel in Paris and is scheduled to open in 2020.

The new opening follows the hotels in Beijing and Dubai in 2017, Shanghai in 2018 and Moscow in 2020, bringing the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts collection to eight properties, including Milan, London and Bali.

The hotel will be located at 30 Avenue George V,  the avenue forms with the Champs Elysees and the Avenue Montaigne the famous “Triangle d’Or”, one of Paris’ most exclusive and distinctive areas.


The property will offer 76 rooms, the majority of them suites, and a full range of luxury facilities including a spa with a 25 meter pool and a Bulgari restaurant and bar opening to a charming courtyard garden.

The Postal Museum is based in Farringdon, Central London and has two event spaces.  Guests can have exclusive access to the museum galleries and a private courtyard and is suitable for all sorts of corporate events such as dinners, drinks receptions and parties through to award ceremonies, product launches and presentations.


The industrial event space has vaulted arches and original exposed brick work and has a capacity of 275 standing and 150 seated.  


The Postal Museum is new to hire in 2018, including the contemporary Welcome space, the museum Galleries and a private courtyard. This area has a capacity of 140 standing and 50 seated.


The package can include a ride on Mail Rail which is a 15 minute underground exploration of 100 year old Mail Rail tunnels on miniature trains under the streets of London.
