Grade II-listed North Western Hall in Liverpool is to be converted back into a hotel, the property, adjacent to Liverpool Lime Street Station, has been used as student accommodation since 1996


The venue had previously been the North Western Hotel, one of the founding family of ‘grand railway hotels’ which includes The Midland in Manchester, St Pancras in London and The Balmoral in Edinburgh, will be completely transformed before opening in mid-2019. The number of rooms within the converted hotel could range from 180 to 230, with the potential for an F&B offering.

A five-storey office block close to London’s Trafalgar Square is to be converted into a 136-room hotel with restaurant and rooftop bar. 7-8 Martins Place in Charing Cross will be known as St Martins Place Hotel and will also house a retail offering in the basement and ground-floor levels as well as retaining an existing Post Office.


The conversion of the 1950s building, which adjoins the Grade II*-listed  St Martin’s Vicarage, Vestry and School, has been designed by EPR Architects.

The new Barcelo Torre de Madrid holds the best location in the Spanish capital  –  the hotel is housed within Madrid’s iconic ‘Tower of Madrid’ which is right at the end of the Gran Via, located next to the Spanish Square. Three brothers decided to build New Road Hotel on the site of an old textile factory, formerly known as Service House, where their father once worked.  Since its closure in 2000, the building has remained empty, until 2011 when building work started to convert it into a hotel.


With exposed brickwork, open lobby spaces flooded with light, and views of London’s skyline, New Road Hotel will be a London hotel with a difference. The focus will be on sleek and efficient design, five-star service, and will have a restaurant by chef Marco Pierre White.


There are two meeting rooms, with industrial styling or if you want to take the meeting outside, there is also a terrace and rooftop studio, which can also be used for a drinks reception or party.


The New Road Hotel has 80 bedrooms, a fitness studio and social zones with live music, pool tables and a library.


The nearest underground station is Whitechapel, 5 minutes walk away.

A new luxury hotel set in a restored Georgian terrace dating back to the early 1800s will open in London in 2020, it will form part of the highly-anticipated One Crown Place mixed-use development in EC2. The name of the hotel will be unveiled later this year, will sit alongside One Crown Place’s striking terracotta-clad residential towers containing 246 luxury apartments and 140,000 sq ft of  office space.

The venue will launch in early 2020 and will span five floors across six Georgian townhouses which were designed by one of the most influential and talented architects of the 18th century, George Dance the Younger. Once launched the hotel will feature a 100 cover restaurant and bar, a private members club, a public-facing deli, art gallery in the lobby and a club lounge with a bar and an adjoining library room.

Home Grown Hotels have announced a £30 million expansion of the Pig properties with the opening of three properties in Kent, West Sussex and Cornwall.


Each new hotel – like properties in the New Forest (Brockenhurst); near Bath; Studland, Dorset; Combe, Devon and Southampton – will feature a restaurant supplied by an extensive kitchen garden or from within a 25-mile radius of the hotel, as well as the distinct shabby chic interiors designed by Judy Hutson, wife of the chief executive of Home Grown Hotels, Robin Hutson.


The first of the three new hotels, the Pig at Bridge Place, is set to open in the autumn and will be located in the village of Bridge near Canterbury, Kent in a grade II*-listed, 17th-century manor house dating back to 1638.


The two other hotels will be located near Arundel, West Sussex (the South Downs Pig) and near Padstow, Cornwall (the Pig at Harlyn Bay). Both are set to open in 2019.
