CSR is back in the spotlight. One of the most common ways to make an event more sustainable is to go paperless and use digital replacements like apps, chatbots and emails.
Create a personalised event experiences using an app to gather attendee preferences and patterns in activity, which will give the event maximum impact and engagement for each participant
Use an event app or chatbot to send questions and prompts, giving the audience the power to influence what happens next.
Venues are introducing more interactive items, from the basic photo walls to digital displays that can be influenced by attendee participation. Look forward to more Tweet walls, LED displays, crowd-responsive lighting
Use mixed reality: virtual reality and augmented reality for maximum impact. Allow virtual speakers to take the stage, create virtual meeting places and let virtual attendees participate in discussions.
Host digital hangouts that add a new dimension to networking and interaction.
The New Road Hotel in Whitechapel is opening in March
Three brothers decided to build New Road Hotel on the site of an old textile factory, formerly known as Service House, where their father once worked. Since its closure in 2000, the building has remained empty, until 2011 when building work started to convert it into a hotel.
With exposed brickwork, open lobby spaces flooded with light, and views of London’s skyline, New Road Hotel will be a London hotel with a difference. The focus will be on sleek and efficient design, five-star service, and will have a restaurant by chef Marco Pierre White.
There are two meeting rooms, with industrial styling or if you want to take the meeting outside, there is also a terrace and rooftop studio, which can also be used for a drinks reception or party.
The New Road Hotel has 80 bedrooms, a fitness studio and social zones with live music, pool tables and a library.
The nearest underground station is Whitechapel, 5 minutes walk away.
A new luxury hotel set in a restored Georgian terrace dating back to the early 1800s will open in London in 2020, it will form part of the highly-anticipated One Crown Place mixed-use development in EC2. The venue will launch in early 2020 and will span five floors across six Georgian townhouses which were designed by one of the most influential and talented architects of the 18th century, George Dance the Younger. Once launched the hotel will feature a 100 cover restaurant and bar, a private members club, a public-facing deli, art gallery in the lobby and a club lounge with a bar and an adjoining library room.
