Virgin Hotels To Launch In Edinburgh In 2020

Virgin Hotels have announced its first UK opening will be a 225-room hotel in Edinburgh, which is expected to be launched in 2020. The brand have revealed plans to transform the city’s historic India Buildings in Victoria Street into a hotel with multiple dining and drinking outlets, Virgin Hotels have previously operated soley in the US.

The Pig To Expand With Three New Hotels

Each new hotel – like properties in the New Forest (Brockenhurst); near Bath; Studland, Dorset; Combe, Devon and Southampton – will feature a restaurant supplied by an extensive kitchen garden or from within a 25-mile radius of the hotel, as well as the distinct shabby chic interiors designed by Judy Hutson, wife of the chief executive of Home Grown Hotels, Robin Hutson.
The first of the three new hotels, the Pig at Bridge Place, is set to open in the autumn and will be located in the village of Bridge near Canterbury, Kent in a grade II*-listed, 17th-century manor house dating back to 1638.
The two other hotels will be located near Arundel, West Sussex (the South Downs Pig) and near Padstow, Cornwall (the Pig at Harlyn Bay). Both are set to open in 2019.
New Arcotel Opens In Vienna

The Arcotel Donauzentrum has recently opened in Vienna, located directly in the Donau Zentrum shopping centre. The third Vienna Arcotel has a different concept: the focus is on digital services, a cool lounge and an innovative grab & go breakfast. Besides 158 guest rooms the hotel also offers five seminar rooms above the rooftops of Vienna’s 22nd district. With high ceilings and large windows, all five seminar rooms on the 4th floor facing Wagramer Straße are flooded with natural daylight. The rooms are sized up to 132 m², offering enough space for up to 99 people.

Chester Grosvenor Hotel Restaurant Refurbishment

The Chester Grosvenor has announced a £350,000 restaurant refurbishment, which is set to include the city centre’s only Champagne bar.
The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant La Brasserie will be closed for four weeks, while work is carried out, plans are set to be unveiled in early February, include art-deco inspired interiors and a brass and quartz Champagne bar.
Michelin-starred chef Simon Radley is also developing a revived menu for La Brasserie, which is due to reopen on 1 February.
