Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced that it has closed on the sale of Hotel Imperial, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Vienna to Al Habtoor Investment – the investment arm of UAE conglomerate Al Habtoor Group for $78.8 million USD. Many hotels such as Bella Sky and the Crowne Plaza have transfer buses that can be hired to take delegates to and from the airport. The metro system in Copenhagen is currently being expanded to create more stops and therefore improving the public transport for the city. All taxis and public transport are reasonably priced although bicycles are favoured and do hold the right of way in the city.
Value for money?
Copenhagen is relatively good value for money with prices being competitive with neighbouring countries for what they can offer. Although with the city expanding and developing within a few years I can see the demand for Copenhagen being higher therefore increased prices. Prices at bars and restaurant are extremely high compared to those in the UK.

The main USP for Copenhagen is their sustainability, with the Crowne Plaza being the first fully certified CSR Hotel in the World and it certainly lives up to its claims.

Summary of Destination
Copenhagen is a fantastic destination for conference and events. It is a capital city where hotels and venues have worked together to create a meeting incentive to benefit conferences. As a coastal city this benefits from beautiful coastal views on the 15-minute drive from the Airport to the city centre. Although, there are a lot of conference facilities in the city centre the new developments of the Bella Sky and Crowne Plaza are located a 10 minute drive from the centre and is quickly becoming the hub for conference and events. The city has been voted, as one of the safest capital cities in Europe and this is apparent when travelling around. Copenhagen is an extremely sustainable city through to the main form of transport being cycling who take over the roads.

The Post Office has published its annual survey on international destinations, comparing eight tourist items in 46 destinations worldwide – including dinner for two, coffees and drinks.
