Boris Johnson announced yesterday during his press conference about cleaner air for London that an innovative green wall is set for The Mermaid Theatre, subject to planning permission, on one of London’s busiest roads. Not only are green walls visually stunning they also trap pollutants, removing them from the air.

Ramside Hall Hotel and Golf Club, Durham has started a £15m development where 48 new bedrooms are being built. The hotel has function rooms for up to 600 delegates

Stafford-based venue Tillington Hall has completed a further phase of its ongoing refurbishment and investment programme worth £500,000. Located three miles from central Stafford and a two-minute drive from the M6, Tillington Hall is a privately-owned hotel offering accommodation, conference and banqueting facilities. The initial investment project took in the public areas, providing a new reception area and light and airy lounges. The Garden Suite – which provides space for up to 300 delegates for a meeting – was given a complete refurbishment and has plenty of natural daylight. The Royal Suite has also been transformed and has its own entrance, reception area, lounge and bar; making it ideal for a range of events from conferences to dinners.

41 Portland Place has set up permanent video conferencing facilities in another of its meeting rooms – AMS1. This inexpensive modern room is ideal for meetings, workshops or training sessions and thanks to the high spec equipment attendees can now be global.

The conference and events space at The Strand Palace Hotel in London now offers nine newly refurbished meeting rooms holding up to 250 delegates.

Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre as part of the IHG rebrand has had a full refurbishment of its largest room – The Albany Suite. The ceiling lighting can be altered to reflect company colors and the room can hold up to 600 theatre style.

The Royal Garden Hotel has completed refurbishment of its last major area – The York Suite. The spacious suite can hold up to 140 delegates and 4 exhibition stands.

The Holiday Inn Walsall, will re-open its doors in early January after an extensive refurbishment. The hotel has a new conference & banqueting centre, featuring 10 conference rooms – the largest catering for up to 180 delegates theatre-style. In addition, the refurbishment of the hotel includes new restaurant and bar areas, which features Wi-Fi access throughout and a dedicated leisure club, J10 Fitness.
