The doors have now opened at the new Drayton Hotel onsite at Drayton Manor Park. The hotel boasts 150 rooms and a varied conference and meeting space offering, including the Tower Suite with a capacity for up to 500 people. The venue also has a £1m 4D cinema with seating for 152 people, which can be hired for events and has two breakout rooms.  The cinema uses the latest technology and special effect lighting with stimulation chairs that move up and down, vibrate, release sprays of water, bursts of air, bubbles, snow and even have various aromas.

Edinburgh International Conference Centre is to build an additional 3,500sqm of event space. The new facility is due to open in spring 2013 and will more than double the EICC’s current event space offering. The expansion will add a further nine new major event spaces, with subdivision options to form 12 distinct areas.

The Business Design Centre has given their Conference Centre a soft refurbishment – the Auditorium has been given “a new lease of life” which now compliments the other BDC furniture, which has also been updated. The largest visual change has been created by five new digital screens which clients can place logos and videos to give guests a professional welcome.

One Birdcage Walk successfully completed the latest stage of its four year refurbishment programme which included major changes to two of the key event and conference spaces – Council Room and Christopher Hinton Room – and improvements to the meeting rooms and public areas within the venue

The Lancaster London has spend £10m on a major refurbishment project to renovate its banqueting venues and install new commercial kitchens, the project is due to be completed this month and will transform the Nine Kings Suite and Westbourne Suite

A recent £40 million investment in to Edinburgh Airport has transformed and expanded the departure lounge, taking on 18 new flight routes for 2011. Edinburgh Airport is now the 6th largest airport in the UK with direct connections to 110 destinations including: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, London City, Birmingham, Bristol, Luton, Belfast International, Southampton and Manchester.

Richmond Creative Event Catering is delighted to announce that the £250,000 refurbishment of the Livery room is now complete. During the summer the Livery Room at Pewterers’ Hall has been upgraded and exquisitely restored using gold leaf, trompe l’oeil and other artisanal techniques.  As well as using traditional craft to develop the facilities the Hall now has state of the art lighting and audio visual solutions to that make for an exciting and space that manages to successfully blend tradition and historical detail with cutting edge technology. To further enhance the possibilities and scale of events at the Hall a new door has also been created that allows access (for the very first time) directly into the garden.
