Collette kicked off the event with an evening themed around Swedish cuisine and traditions – We ate traditional food such as shrimp, pickled herring, meatballs and barbequed meats and fish, and sang Swedish songs while sampling some Swedish Schnapps!

Now that one of London’s most prestigious and talked about venues, Cutty Sark, is taking bookings for private and corporate events starting in October 2012, Collette and Kerry took the time to visit the venue on a recent trip to London.

The 19th century vessel has been lifted and suspended three metres above her old position, allowing visitors to walk, dine or dance beneath her and for the first time to properly appreciate her beautiful shape – the very reason why she has been famous since the 1870s.

All of Cutty Sark’s three decks are available for exclusive hire. The new 1000m2 gallery beneath the Cutty Sark, ably demonstrated by Collette, can accommodate over 200 guests for formal dining or 300 guests for receptions.

The trip includes site visits, sampling local cuisine, and networking with other agents. This will be Collette’s first visit to Stockholm as Destination Champion.

VisitSweden has teamed up with Meetings & Incentive Travel Magazine for a unique opportunity to get to know what Sweden has to offer as an M&I destination. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet suppliers representing the length of Sweden – from quaint Malmö in the south, to Swedish Lapland in the far north. Together they offer top quality M&I experiences in spectacular settings.

The event is at High Gate House in Northampton, and will be attended by our very own Collette Bent, the Destination Champion for Stockholm.

The 23rd European meeting and events tradeshow (EIBTM) closed in Barcelona with an estimated 15,300 meeting industry professionals in attendance. Total numbers of visitors and buyers at the event, held at the Fira De Barcelona, reached 2,962 up 10.3 per cent on 2010’s show. 3,904 of these were hosted buyers, compared to 3,963 in 2010. Hosted buyers carried out 64,950 pre-scheduled appointments.

Trinity Conferences are delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Usher to the Trinity brand as Managing Director of Trinity Event Management – the full event management arm of Trinity Conferences. The appointment sees the amalgamation of House of Usher – event management division and Trinity Conferences. Stephen’s experience and skill in event management will strengthen Trinity whilst enhancing a one-stop-shop range of event management services. House of Usher will continue to grow and develop its accommodation and conference venue-finding division and will be headed by Elma Usher.

 

Stephen Usher has tremendous experience in the full event management field and there is a strong synergy between both companies in terms of passion for excellence, investment in technology and exceeding customer expectations. Stephen has just completed his tenure as chairmen of the HBAA and will remain on the Executive Committee for the coming year as Treasurer and Past Chair.

 

Jacqui Kavanagh, Managing Director of Trinity Conferences says “Trinity Event Management is very much part of our future development and it is our intention to ensure that all of our brands deliver a consistent quality of service, passion and expertise which I feel Stephen will deliver.
