UVB will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham Repertory Theatre Ltd, jointly governed by The REP and Birmingham City Council. It will consolidate the existing operations in each venue to provide one unique conferencing and events offering to both corporate and private clients.

Unique Venues Birmingham will offer a range of flexible conferencing and events spaces for those seeking a dramatically different venue for their conference or event.   The UVB portfolio includes three theatrical auditoria presenting huge dramatic and creative possibilities, a spectacular book rotunda, and a beautiful roof terrace with stunning panoramic views across the city plus the historic Shakespeare Memorial Room.  A range of function suites and meetings rooms, complete with audio-visual technology, are also on offer across the shared building. UVB will create a number of new jobs.

The Grade 2 listed Georgian Knutsford Crown Court has undergone a transformation to become the new Courthouse Hotel in Cheshire. Steeped in history from 1818 this beautiful building offers a unique option for meetings and events which is just a short 20 minute drive to Manchester airport and 2 miles from the M6 motorway.

There are 5 meeting rooms available with The Moneypenny Suite, offering space for up to 150 delegates and The Court Room up to 550 theatre style.

Aptly named, the Barristers restaurant has also recently opened its doors offering premium British seasonal menus. Later this summer the Rooftop Gardens will be open for al fresco dining and exclusive hire corporate bookings, the gardens will be filled with beautiful seasonal flowers and botanical herbs.

The Pilgrim Hotel is due to open its door in Paddington, London this autumn. The new boutique hotel will be a multi-million pound renovation of the former Royal Norfolk hotel will have 73 bedrooms, a ground floor neighbourhood cafe in place of the standard reception area serving premium coffee and a selection of pastries throughout the day and first floor lounge will accommodate an open kitchen and bar serving produce from the British Isles and Europe.

Warwick Conferences, part of Warwick University, have recently refurbished their Radcliffe Conference Centre. Set to open its doors in September this year the meeting space has been completed revamped including the carpets, paint work as well as the bar and lounge area.


The investment of £6.5 million has transformed the space which can accommodate 180 delegates. Radcliffe sits as part of a collection of venues on-site including The Slate venue which is the venue’s most recent addition which has a capacity of 400.


There are also 358 bedrooms on-site which are available throughout the year.

Newly launched, The Lalit London, has joined the Small Luxury Hotels of the World portfolio as its latest addition, taking the number of London hotels in the collection to nine.

The hotel opened its doors in February of this year at the former St Olaves Grammar School, after a five year transformation period the venue is now a 70 bedroom luxury boutique hotel. Original features remain throughout, such as the panelled Great Hall now home to the pan-Indian restaurant Baluchi and some of the guestrooms that boast of 30 ft ceilings.

Victory House in London’s Leicester Square has been transformed into a MGallery By Sofitel hotel and is due to open with a soft launch in August 2017.  The full opening will be in September 2017.  Victory House has 86 contemporary bedrooms which are sound-proofed for a cosy, boutique hotel experience. 


The hotel is within walking distance of Soho, Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus and St. James, as well as London’s key historic landmarks such as the National Gallery and Somerset House.  The building’s 19th century terracotta façade was designed and built in the early French Renaissance style in 1898 and the property was previously known as Hôtel de l’Europe.  Each room features 1950s film icons with black and white art deco interiors and soft teal, grey and beige furnishings, to create a quiet haven in the buzz of London’s cinema district. Black and white 1950s movie stars feature in the hotel’s corridors, as well as silent 1950s movies that are projected in the lift and lobby.   Located on the ground floor, the hotel’s restaurant, Petit Bistro, will serve French-inspired cuisine using local produce and cocktails, with alfresco dining in the summer months.

The National Conference Centre, at the National Motorcycle Museum just off the NEC and Birmingham Airport, recently attended one of our Mini-Expos here at Trinity Event Solutions.


While here, they updated us on 5 key facts on their venue:


  1. Drinks receptions & dinners can be taken within the museum halls. The National Motorcycle Museum is home to the world biggest collection of British bikes.
  2. Shuttle services can be included between the venue & the hotels they own; The Best Western plus Windmill Village Hotel and Best Western plus Manor Hotel.

  3. There is a team building field on site. They can offer a BBQ to any clients wanting to use outdoor space or looking for an alternative dining experience.

New ibis Styles Hotel to open in Glasgow
ibis Styles Glasgow Centre West will open in summer 2018. The hotel which will be located on Waterloo Street, the property – currently disused offices, will undergo major redevelopment, will have 137 bedrooms and a restaurant and bar.

The hotel will be the second ibis Styles property for AccorHotels, the first being ibis Styles Glasgow Centre George Square.
