Previously private apartments, Wren House underwent significant renovations last year, and can now hold meetings, receptions, lunches, dinners and teambuilding sessions. In addition to the existing reception and banqueting rooms, there are three reception rooms on the ground floor, three spaces on the first floor, and an outdoor space on the South Terrace. Most rooms offer views over the grounds and capacities range between 10 and 60. Joanne Cochran, Head of Events at Royal Hospital Chelsea, believes the venue is more suited to bookers searching for a more intimate space, and says there is plenty of theming potential for both private and corporate events.

Hilton Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of Hilton Edinburgh Carlton, following a £17m revamp.


The hotel is owned and operated by Amaris Hospitality and is part of their 73-hotel portfolio across the UK and Ireland. Featuring 211 rooms, the venue also has seven meeting spaces accommodating up to 200 delegates.


Hilton Edinburgh Carlton is home to a Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill, offering local produce and a classic dining menu, as well as bespoke dining options for private events along with dedicated breakout spaces.

The Langridge Stand, which enjoys views across the city officially opened on the 20th of July. It was built to accommodate the racing business however it is now open for conference and events, as the race course aims to scale up its non-race day activity.


The main space within the new stand (the Royal Crescent suite) was designed by D5 architects and holds a maximum capacity of 300 in theatre style. The Royal Crescent suite also has a private roof garden which overlooks the racecourse finishing line which could also be used as a breakout space. There are also 9 further meeting spaces available in the Kelston hospitality stand.


The race course are hoping to double the number of non-race day events over the next three years, and has real focus on delivering this.

A new W hotel, part of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts brand, is due to open in Edinburgh in 2021. This hotel is set to have 214 bedrooms (including 20 suites), 230 sq metres of meetings space, luxury spa facilities as well as a fine dining restaurant with an outdoor terrace overlooking the skyline of city. This will be the second W hotel within the UK (following the W London Leicester Square which opened in 2011) and will be part of an investment into Edinburgh’s city centre.

Originally dating back to 1907, Hilton Hyde Park has undergone a 5 million refurbishment including its meeting space (which can fit up to 30 delegates theatre) and bedrooms. With 136 bedrooms on-site this boutique hotel has resigned the hotel to be in keeping with its Edwardian history. There is also an additional outlet for dining as a previous beauty salon has been turned into the Aubaine restaurant offering up to 175 covers including al-fresco dining. The Hilton Hyde Park is well connected with only being a short 50 metre walk from the Queensway underground station and overlooks London’s beautiful Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

The Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth has unveiled a new events space with views of the conserved hull of King Henry VIII’s favourite warship, following a 9 month, £5.4 million pound renovation. The Tudor warship that sank in the Solent in 1545 was revealed to the public on July 20th and has been described as the best view of the ship for 471 years. HMS Victory, Lord Nelson’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar, sits right alongside the building in Portsmouth Harbour, which is 10 minutes from the centre of Portsmouth. Packages include guided tours of the museum and is undoubtedly an exciting and unique venue.

Brighton is gaining a brand new and very unique event space with its I360 Observation Tower this summer. The tower itself is the world’s first vertical cable car which takes guests up into the skies to reach 450 ft above ground level where you can enjoy 360 degree views of the skyline. The Glass pod can be hired exclusively to fit up to 156 theatre or up to 200 for a drinks reception with views that stretch as far as 26 miles across the city and onto the sea.


The venue also benefits from 5 other meeting rooms as well as the observation tower which have a capacity up to 200 theatre and being in such a prime location means other well-known hotels are also closeby such as the Hilton Metropole or the Grand Hotel whilst the Brighton Conference Centre is also a stone’s throw away.


There is also the option to use the venue for team building activities including abseiling down the observation tower or making use of the Brighton beach for other fun activities.
