The Ramada London Ealing Hotel and Ramada London Hyde Park are now under the management of Westmont Hospitality Group. From 1st May 2012 both hotels will be represented by Hilton Worldwide as an affiliate partner and therefore will have a name change to The London Ealing Hotel and The London Hyde Park Hotel. Salford City Stadium has officially launched following a £26m investment. It boasts a state of the art conference amd event facility with 1,200 sqm of open space that can be divided into three suites catering for up to 1,000 people.
The Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel has opened at the Theme Park. The 150 room property is the first Legoland hotel outside of Denmark and cost £25 million to build.
According to the British Hospitality Association, 8,152 new hotel rooms are expected to open this year in the U.K., of which about half are budget properties. However, travelers looking to stay near Olympic venues in Stratford, the East London borough where the Games are taking place, may be disappointed. The Holiday Inn next to the main Olympic stadium, for example, has been fully booked for a year.
