Boston Marriott Quincy in Massachusetts has just completed a three year, $6.5 million renovation. Guest rooms now feature the latest Marriott Hotels & Resorts design, with a fresh color palette inspired by nature, a 37″ HDTV and both wired and wireless high-speed Internet access. Meeting rooms and the Junior Ballroom are freshly appointed, and the hotel has added a new outdoor patio adjacent to this area.  The fitness center has also been updated with state-of-the-art equipment, as well as cosmetic improvements to the pool area.

After a £22million refurbishment, London Transport Museum has a new vibrant and modern feel. Centrally located in Covent Garden, this truly ‘London’ venue celebrates one of the Capitals favourite talking points, the red London bus. Visitors can enjoy iconic design heritage, including one of the world’s most important collections of graphic art and posters, in the unique setting of the Grade II listed Victorian Flower Market, complete with original cast iron pillars and glass roof. London Transport Museum has three stunning spaces available to hire, the Cubic Theatre, the Museum galleries and the boardroom.

B Hotel Barcelona has opened a new roof terrace, which can be used for hosting cocktails and tapas for up to 120 people. Located on the 8th floor of the hotel guests can enjoy views of Montjuic Mountain and the rest of the city. The hotel is situated close to the Fira Barcelona Convention Centre.

Trinity Conferences are delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Usher to the Trinity brand as Managing Director of Trinity Event Management – the full event management arm of Trinity Conferences. The appointment sees the amalgamation of House of Usher – event management division and Trinity Conferences. Stephen’s experience and skill in event management will strengthen Trinity whilst enhancing a one-stop-shop range of event management services. House of Usher will continue to grow and develop its accommodation and conference venue-finding division and will be headed by Elma Usher.

 

Stephen Usher has tremendous experience in the full event management field and there is a strong synergy between both companies in terms of passion for excellence, investment in technology and exceeding customer expectations. Stephen has just completed his tenure as chairmen of the HBAA and will remain on the Executive Committee for the coming year as Treasurer and Past Chair.

Trinity Conferences has increased its team by recruiting four new members of staff over the last three months, bringing the total number of employees to 23.

 

Jenny Harding, Director of Operations said: “Trinity has seen a substantial increase in the amount of business we are handling this year.  This recruitment drive has strengthened our existing teams and also given us the opportunity to train and develop the skills of staff to fulfil their potential.  We can now build on our succession planning programme so that we have a fully trained workforce in place to manage new account wins.”

 

The new team members are:

Jade Prosser, Conference Executive

Jade has joined the Trinity Conferences venue finding team, she previously comes from a travel industry background and has worked for Thomas Cook where her role was negotiating prices on behalf of retail.

Maria Osker, Conference Executive

Maria has joined the venuefinder.com / cbg account and has been in the events industry for 12 years.   Her previous role was a Hotel Sales Manager and she has a wide range of experience planning conferences, exhibitions and weddings hotels so has an understanding hotels and clients.

Beth Gadd, Conference Assistant

Beth has also joined the venuefinder.com / cbg account. She has worked in a sales and events office in a hotel for more than 4 years, most recently as Assistant Sales Manager with Ramada.  She has planned many events, including conferences.

Caroline Gwinnell, Conference Assistant

Caroline has joined the Pharma Meetings Team.  She has worked in various Customer Service roles in the hospitality, retail and finance industries, including with Marriott Hotels.  Her experience in these areas means that she is used to dealing with clients and responding to their needs.

 

The recruitment follows Trinity Conferences Investors in People Gold award, the highest IIP standard which independently assesses good management practice and positive development of staff.  Trinity Conferences is one of the few agencies in the UK to have achieved IIP Gold.

The Sheraton New York and Towers has announced plans for a $150m renovation project and will be completed by April 2012. The hotel features more than 55,000 sqft of event space including 43 meeting rooms. There are two ballrooms which hold 1,200 – 2,500 people.
