Hyatt Regency has opened in the heart of the trendy media harbour area of Dusseldorf. The hotel has 303 rooms and offers more than 850m2 of event space.

Hotel Gothia Towers in Gothenburg is adding a hotel, exhibition and conference facility, due for completion in 2014. The new tower will increase the number of rooms from 500 to 1200 and will feature seven meeting rooms and a new banqueting hall for 300 people.

In January 2012, the W Paris Opera is due to open which will have 120m2 of function space.

In the summer the Mandarin Oriental is set to open a 150 room property on the fashionable Rue Saint Honore in Paris

The Ora Exhibition and Convention Centre in Istanbul will open later in the year, featuring a 10,000m2 exhibition space with a capacity for up to 5,600 people.

W Marrakech and Residences is scheduled to open in 2013, located near the Medina. The resort will include 150 rooms and 68 villas, bar, 2 restaurants and a poolside bar. It will have 1000m2 of meeting space and leisure facilities as well as an 18 hole championship golf course.

Even though Budapest is already a popular location for corporate events, so far it could only host smaller events due to the lack of a larger conference facility. However, the newly opened Syma Conference Center is able to simultaneously provide conference and meeting rooms, exhibition space and seated catering for up to 5000 guests.
