The Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como will open in spring 2019 following a complete refurbishment of the current hotel’s facilities.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is taking over what is currently the CastaDiva Resort & Spa on Lake Como in Italy.

Located on the shores of Lake Como, and surrounded by lush botanic parkland, the resort comprises 76 rooms and suites housed in nine villas, dating from the 19th century. Almost all accommodation has lake views and the resort features four restaurants and bars, including a lakeside terrace for al fresco dining, a large spa with an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor floating pool on the lake.

There will also be meeting facilities in the grounds.

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants are expanding the brand to Germany in 2023 with the opening of Kimpton Frankfurt, it will be located in a listed building of Junghofstrasse in Frankfurt’s city centre.

The luxury boutique hotel will feature 155 rooms, two large meeting rooms, an onsite gym and there are plans for a sky-bar and restaurant on the roof terrace.

This Kimpton hotel will join Kimpton De Witt in Amsterdam this hotel was the first Kimpton property to open outside of the Americas in May 2017.

After 7 months of refurbishment, the Hotel Auteuil Tour Eiffel re-opened on 7^th July this year. The renovations have added an additional 8 bedrooms, bringing the hotel’s total up to 102 bedrooms, some with balconies that are elegant and comfortable. The hotel has also added a sauna, a 24-hour fitness suite and a lounge bar.

Along with this refurbishment, the hotel is introducing a new programme for corporate clients called Business Class. This will offer corporate clients negotiated prices, express check in and check out, express breakfast from 6am, work areas including a “business corner” with a computer, printer and scanner.

The 4 star Dom Pedro Marina hotel, In the centre of Vilamoura and 25 km from Faro airport, has reopened after the refurbishment of all rooms, suites and common areas.

The hotel has six meeting rooms, the largest taking 150 participants in theatre-style.  Larger events can be held at the Dom Pedro Forum Congress Center which is located in an independent building, next to the Dom Pedro Vilamoura hotel, and very close to the Dom Pedro Marina hotel. This space has the capacity for up to 450 people. 

This boutique hotel, with terracotta architecture, is located a few meters from the beach and the marina of Vilamoura. The Hotel Dom Pedro Marina has 101 bedrooms and 54 suites, including 4 presidential suites, with private jacuzzi on the terrace. Guests can enjoy outdoor leisure areas, pools, terraces and the Italian restaurant, Da Pietro.

W Hotels, part of Marriott International, has marked its return to Australia with the opening of W Brisbane.

The group formerly ran a hotel in Sydney, which closed down around ten years ago.

It is Brisbane’s first five-star hotel opening in 20 years.

Situated with views over Brisbane River, W Brisbane features 312 guest rooms, including 32 suites. The ‘Extreme Wow Suite’, the hotel’s presidential accommodation, is located on the 33rd floor and features panoramic views of the area surrounding the property.

The hotel features three food and drink options, including the Three Blue Ducks restaurant, the Living Room Bar and the WET Deck rooftop poolside bar.

For corporate events, W Brisbane offers 1,100sqm of space, with the 595sqm Great Room featuring AV facilities. Additional meeting rooms include the Studios and Strategy Room, which provide views of the river and floor-to-ceiling windows.

There is also a selection of treatments available at the AWAY Spa, which will soon feature a hair salon, and a fully-equipped gym.

W Hotels is planning further openings in Australia, with properties in Sydney and Melbourne set for completion in 2020.
