A new restaurant is set to launch at 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel in London, on the site of what was Alexis Gauthier’s Tartufo. Hans’ Bar & Grill will be headed up by chef Adam England, who previously worked at Le Pont de la Tour and the restaurant will offer an all-day seasonal menu.


The restaurant on Pavilion Road is part of the 11 Cadogan Gardens hotel whose management was taken over last year by the team behind Chewton Glen in New Milton, Hampshire. The restaurant, set to launch in May, will have 106 seats as well as a 20-seat bar and a private dining room called ‘the Curio’ with capacity for a further 16 people.



Meanwhile, the opening of the Belmond Cadogan, also owned by Cadogan, is set to open later this year after a four-year, £28m refurbishment.


The Queen Anne-style property, built in 1887, has been renovated to provide larger-sized suites in response to demand from guests, the hotel will also feature a new “gourmet dining experience”, with a direct entrance on to Sloane Street and overlooking Cadogan Place Gardens.

The Marriott Hotel & Country Club’s £1.7 million refurbishment offers 17 spaces for hire for 8 to 200 guests.

Each of the 17 reimagined meeting spaces has views of the grounds and the Garden Court has its own private walled garden. The manicured lawns and pretty 19th century rose garden built by James II for Robert Hanbury in 1865 are open to all guests and delegates.


Every meeting room has been updated with Clevertouch Screens, Smart Write on Walls and ClickShare connectivity. The multi-functional spaces incorporate breakout areas for networking and relaxation.

Last year saw Holywell Park refurbish eight of its first-floor meeting rooms and breakout spaces. Significant investment has also gone into Holywell Park’s AV, including new 8,000-lumen projectors, hight tech microphones and repeater screens.

Alongside refurbishments to the reception area, pod areas and portable coffee stations have been introduced to add further flexibility.

“The refurbishments at Holywell Park have been implemented to create the optimum meeting and event environment with the highest possible standard of facilities and infrastructure,” said Imago Venues’ head of venues, Keith Barber.

Holywell Park offers a large exhibition area, nine meeting rooms and a lecture theatre which can seat up to 200 delegates.

Westin, the Marriott International-owned brand that is focused on wellness, is to enter the UK with the launch of a 220-bedroom hotel in the City of London.


The Westin London City will overlook the River Thames and will open in 2020. The hotel will form a part of the redevelopment of the former Queensbridge House site and will complete the northern riverbank walkway between the Tower of London and Millennium Bridge.


The hotel will also have an indoor swimming pool, spa, fitness studio, ballroom, four meeting rooms and business centre.


Westin Hotels & Resorts was previously owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts which itself was bought by Marriott International in 2016 to create the world’s largest hotel company with a total of 30 brands. The opening of the Westin London City will take the number of Marriott hotels in the UK up to 18.

The final touches are being added to the new Hampton by Hilton Blackpool hotel which will open for business at the end of May following a £12m investment.


The hotel, will be on New South Promenade and is a redevelopment of the once derelict Palm Beach and Bourne Hotel site.  The property will have 130 rooms along with a fitness centre and work-zone complete with views of the characterful Blackpool seafront.


Unique interiors will run throughout the hotel which will celebrate the culture of Blackpool using feature walls and historic pictures.

One of the most eagerly awaited hotel openings in the UK will take place in September, when Heckfield Place in Hampshire welcomes its first guests, the property was originally scheduled to open in 2012, but has been beset by delays.


The Georgian main house, the gardens, and Home Farm form part of a 400-acre estate. When it opens in September, the 46-room hotel will also feature a 67-seat private cinema with bar, a wine cellar, spa and personal training facilities, and two cottages in the grounds.


The two restaurants, Marle and Hearth, will be supplied by the estate’s biodynamic kitchen garden, orchards and farm.

The Cairn Group, which operates 33 UK hotels, is set to reopen the Majestic Hotel Harrogate as the DoubleTree by Hilton Harrogate after a £15m refurbishment.


Due for completion at the end of 2019, the hotel will feature 170 bedrooms, a spa and conference and events space for up to 500 delegates. There will be six state-of-the-art boardrooms and nine conference and events suites. The hotel will also receive a boost to its restaurant offerings, which will include a champagne bar and restaurant, lounge bar, terrace and private dining room.


It follows the conversion of two other Cairn Group hotels, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newcastle International Airport, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh – Queensferry Crossing.

The 409 bedroom property is located on Boulevard de la Croisette, and  is one of the most recognisable hotels on the French Riviera, rich in culture and history.


Every aspect of the hotels redesign pays tribute to its illustrious past while setting it up for the future, new features include Version Originale, a restaurant serving authentic regional dishes with a creative twist, Le Martinez Bar and Le Jardin du Martinez, an alfresco dining terrace with a Mediterranean garden setting. The new offerings join La Palme d’Or, the two Michelin-starred restaurant by chef Christian Sinicropi.


Hôtel Martinez is the second property in France in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, joining Hôtel du Louvre in Paris, which is currently closed for renovation.
