IHG expects the first avid hotels locations to start construction in early 2018, and the first hotel is anticipated to open in early 2019.
The brand is designed for guests who want a hotel stay that meets their expectations for the type of hospitality they value most – the basics done exceptionally well – at a price point expected to be about $10-15 less than IHG’s industry-leading Holiday Inn Express brand.

The Wellcome Collection has revealed two new spaces for private hire, these are, The Reading Room and The Atrium. The new spaces will be an addition to the venue’s seven rooms already available for events.
The Reading Room is able to accommodate up to 160 guests for a range of different of events. It also hosts the annual Wellcome Book Prize.
The Atrium can host up to 400 people and has a feature staircase, lighting cloud and hanging Anthony Gormley sculpture.
Hilton Garden Inn have announced the opening of the 150-guestroom Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Emirates Old Trafford, the brand’s first property in the city of Manchester. The hotel joins seven other Hilton Garden Inn properties across the UK and more than 740 properties across the world.
The hotel is on-site at the renowned Emirates Old Trafford venue – home to Lancashire County Cricket Club, which hosts domestic and international cricket, conferences and events and concerts for up to 50,000 people. Of the 150 guestrooms, 85 overlook the world-famous cricket pitch, 80 of which have balconies.
The venue can host from 10 to 2,000 people from small meetings to large exhibitions, including The Point which has capacity for up to 1,200 for exhibitions.
The hotel offers guests a variety of onsite dining options, including, The Garden Grille, providing cooked-to-order breakfast and a-la-carte dinner. The Pavilion Pantry is open 24 hours for on-the-go guests and the Garden Grille & Bar.
The second London hotel from the Dorsett Hotel group is a 13-storey city hotel next to the 18th century St Botolph Church and above Aldgate tube station.
There are 267 guest rooms, a restaurant, fitness centre, rooftop bar and four meeting rooms. The hotel is graded as 4 star.
This first Dorsett hotel in Shepherds Bush has three meeting rooms and the group has more hotels under construction.
The 131-bedroom Trafalgar St. James London hotel has joined the Curio Collection by Hilton following a full refurbishment, making it the first Curio hotel in the UK. The 129-bedroom Lincoln Plaza London hotel, expected to open in late 2016, was slated to be the UK’s first Curio, however the opening has been delayed.
The hotel now features bedrooms with iconic wall art celebrating London’s music idols, all day Mediterranean dining at the Trafalgar Dining Rooms, and an underground lounge called Biblio.
The hotel’s rooftop bar is due to open in October, complete with canopy-covered seating, the space will feature an open fireplace, heaters and blankets during the cooler months. Room – a glass-enclosed, 14-cover private dining room – will also be available for hire.
Another Place, Ullswater
Opening this month, Another Place, The Lake Ullswater is a Georgian Manor House in 18 acres of grounds. There are 40 bedrooms, restaurants, a library, infinity pool and activities can be organised on Ullswater. There are various spaces, both inside and outside that can be used for ‘gatherings’.
This hotel is part of the same group as the Watergate Bay Hotel on the north coast of Cornwall, which has two meeting rooms, a boardroom for 10 people and room for 40 with a decked area overlooking the sea.
More hotels in a similar style are planned to add to the group.
Barton Hall has a variety of meeting spaces, including 2 boardrooms, a large function suite and a stunning orangery. The space is ideal for high end management meetings, intimate meetings and the venue are able to provide great outdoor space for team building activities
Located in London’s Whitechapel the hotel will feature 80 bedrooms and reflect the venues heritage and location with exposed brickwork, open lobby spaces and stunning views of London’s skyline. Marco Pierre White’s Mr White’s English Chophouse will provide the F&B offering, along with the Cereal Grind breakfast bar in the lobby.
